Issues
There are many important issues that impact the lives of North Carolinians. I am working to make North Carolina a better place to live and work for everyone. Here are just a few of my policy priorities.
Voting Rights & Election Law
North Carolinians deserve free and fair elections, where voters choose their representatives, not the other way around. I will continue to push for improvements to our election systems, including advocating for a non-partisan independent redistricting committee and expanded access to voting. I am also strongly opposed to dark money in politics.
Environment & Energy
I have spent my entire career fighting for stronger environmental protections and clean energy. Pollution and toxic chemicals are a persistent and growing problem that must be addressed. I will push for policies that help address climate change and also promote environmental justice for communities that have been historically impacted by bad policy decisions that serve corporate interests.
Access to Healthcare & Reproductive Rights
Even as Medicaid Expansion is finally being implemented in North Carolina, many communities still lack access to basic services and quality healthcare. We must do more to ensure that everyone can get the care they need as close to home as possible. We must also work to reverse recently passed laws that target trans and LGBTQ+ North Carolinians, and block women's rights to make their own reproductive health decisions in private with their healthcare providers.
